WETTBEWERB FÜR DIE ERWEITERUNG DER TH- STUTTGART 2009

Städtebaulich wurde mit dieser Blockverbauung versucht den Ort und die Stadtstruktur zu verdichten und mit dem gebauten Volumen die städtischen Räume, die Strassen und Plätze deutlich zu zeichnen und zu definieren. Architektonisch hat dieses Gebäude eine Grundrissform die direkt vom verbaubaren Grundstück abgeleitet wurde. Die verbaubare Fläche wurde mit Öffnungen im Inneren dreimal übereinander in verschiedenen Höhen als Betondecken wiedergebaut. In diese Struktur, auf diesem künstlichen und gebauten Baugrund werden unabhängige, freie zweistöckige Holzbauten hineingestellt. Diese Volumen werden unabhängig von der Betonkonstruktion mit einer eigenen tragenden Konstruktion ausgebildet. Die zweigeschossigen Holzeinbauten können auf ihrem künstlichen Baugrund einfach erweitert und für Nutzungsänderungen umgebaut oder verschoben werden.

COMPETITION FOR THE EXTENSION OF TH- STUTTGART 2009

In terms of urban planning, this block development was an attempt to condense the site and the urban structure and to clearly draw and define the urban spaces, streets and squares with the built volume. Architecturally, this building has a ground plan that was derived directly from the buildable plot. The built-up area was rebuilt with openings in the interior three times on top of each other at different heights as concrete ceilings. Independent, free two-storey wooden buildings are placed in this structure, on this artificial and built-up ground. These volumes are formed independently of the concrete structure with their own load-bearing construction. The two-storey wooden buildings can be easily extended on their artificial building ground and converted or moved for changes of use.
